What a beautiful Thanksgiving weekend this looks to be, especially here in South Florida. This is a great weekend to get out and start some green projects, like maybe a compost heap.
If you’ve already started your compost project, then don’t forget to treat your heap! Treat my heap? Absolutely!
Think of all the great scraps from the feast you’re planning. Peelings from potatoes and yams; cuttings from your vegetables; and for those making pumpkin pie from scratch, pumpkin leavings. And don’t forget coffee grounds. Really, anything you haven’t cooked will be such a savory mouthful to your favorite heap of compost. Yum.
